Field Gear

The Relay

Purpose-built Kydex carry for the radios you actually use.

Most handheld radios get carried one of two ways: clipped to something and hoping it stays put, or buried in a nylon pouch that makes the radio harder to access.

The Relay was built to give handheld radios a better home.

Made from rugged Kydex and formed around specific radio bodies, The Relay keeps your radio secure, accessible, and integrated into the rest of your kit without unnecessary bulk, straps, or elastic.

Whether it rides on a belt, chest rig, range setup, field bag, or other working gear, The Relay is designed around one simple principle:

Your comms should stay within reach.

Purpose-Built, Not Universal

The Relay isn’t a one-size-fits-most pouch.

Each version is molded around a specific radio platform so you get the retention, fit, and accessibility that comes from purpose-built Kydex.

Current molds include:

  • BTECH UV-Pro
  • VGC / VERO VR-N76
  • Radioddity GA-5WB
  • Baofeng UV-5R — Standard Battery

The BTECH UV-Pro platform is the flagship Relay configuration, and the same chassis family is also used by the VGC/VERO VR-N76 and Radioddity GA-5WB.

Make It Yours

The Relay is available in a wide range of Kydex colors, textures, and printed patterns, along with multiple attachment options so you can configure the carrier around your kit.

Why Kydex

Traditional radio pouches are versatile, but versatility usually comes with extra material, straps, closures, and movement.

A molded Kydex carrier takes a different approach.

Positive retention.
Your radio has a dedicated place in your kit.

Fast access.
No flap or elastic retention strap between you and the radio.

Less bulk.
The carrier follows the shape of the radio instead of wrapping it in excess material.

Repeatable placement.
Put your radio in the same place every time and build your equipment around it.

Durability.
Kydex doesn’t absorb water and holds its shape in demanding environments.

Built to Become Part of Your Kit

A radio shouldn’t feel like something you added at the last minute.

The Relay is designed to integrate communications into your equipment the same way you would integrate any other piece of mission-critical gear.

Secure while you’re moving. Accessible when you need it. Simple enough that it stays out of the way.

Whether you’re working from a belt, chest rig, field setup, vehicle kit, or everyday equipment, The Relay gives your handheld a dedicated position instead of letting it bounce around wherever you can find space.

UV Pro Platform Compatibility

The flagship Relay is molded for the BTECH UV-Pro platform and is designed to fit the closely related:

  • BTECH UV-Pro
  • VGC / VERO VR-N76
  • Radioddity GA-5WB

These radios share the same general chassis platform, making The Relay a carry solution across all three versions.

Important push to talk Compatibility

On UV-Pro-style radios, The Relay covers the side accessory port used by the K1-style PTT adapter.

Because of this, The Relay is not compatible with a K1 PTT adapter while the radio is seated in the holster.

If your setup requires a K1-connected speaker microphone, PTT, headset adapter, or similar accessory, the Relay UV-Pro configuration may not be appropriate for that loadout.

Built With Havok

The Relay is a collaboration between HXC Comms and Havok Holsters, combining practical field communications with Havok’s experience building purpose-driven Kydex equipment.

No universal pouch pretending every radio is the same.

No solution looking for a problem.

Just a dedicated way to carry your comms like they belong there.

Keep Your Comms Within Reach.
